In Loving Memory of Fredy Leoncio Orlando Leng Yong
November 12, 1952 – October 12, 2026
Our beloved Fredy Leoncio Orlando Leng Yong, 73, of Ica, Peru, died on Monday October 12, 2026, at Mayo Clinic St. Marys Campus.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather “Akun”, brother, and friend. Though his time with us has come to an end, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will remain in our hearts forever.
Fredy was born November 12, 1952, in Ica, Peru to Kam Chiu Leng and Ines Margarita Yong Fort. He graduated from El Pacifico University in 1978. On August 13, 1977, he married Manuela Susana Lau (Quiroz) De Leng at San Pedro Church in Lima, Peru. In 2005 Fredy moved to Rochester MN to join his wife and children. He worked at Textiles Care Service.
Fredy was a man whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him. He was known for his positive spirit, always smiling, and the calmness he brought into a room. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially eating Chinese food, trying different restaurants, watching television, and feeding the family’s cats and dogs. These everyday moments were part of what made him special and will forever be treasured by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Manuela Susana Lau De Leng; son Alex Leng Lau; daughter Susana (Chris) Daniels; daughter Sophia (Zach) Heckman; three grandchildren Adrian (Susana), Joey and Ellie (Sophia); sister Nancy; brother Lizardo. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his brother Leonardo.
Fredy’s passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled. His family will miss his smile, his presence, and the ordinary moments that become the most precious memories after someone we love is gone.
His role as a husband, father, grandfather and brother will always be an important part of his legacy.
Although saying goodbye is painful, his love will continue through his wife, children, grandchildren, and everyone whose life he touched. He will remain forever in their hearts, remembered with love, gratitude, and affection.
You will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. May you rest in peace.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday October 31st, 2026, at St Francis of Assisi Church with a luncheon to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be at 12:00pm at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
