Francis G. Meyer, 87 of Rochester, passed away November 24, 2015 at Cottagewood Senior Center.

Fran was born January 14, 1928 in Wymore, Nebraska where he farmed with his family. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1957. He married Jeanette Schaeffer on October 14, 1950 and moved to Minnesota in the early 1960's with his family. Fran worked most of his life for Olmsted County in the maintenance department until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, camping, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Fran is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanette; daughters, Susan (Jeff) Smith and Becky (Steve) Gandel; sons, Tim Meyer and Mark (Mary) Meyer; 6 grandchildren, Joshua (Andrea) Dahle, Jessica Jones, Kyle Smith, Hannah Smith, Rylee Meyer and Isaac Meyer; and 3 great-grandchildren, Caylee Meier, Casey Jones and Payton Dahle.

A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:00am in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Father Kurt Farrell officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial is at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
