Fran Cochran, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2017, at The Beehive Memory Care Home, in Excelsior, Minnesota. She was 90 years old. She will be missed by family and friends, and remembered fondly for her generosity, quick wit and humor.

Fran was born February 28, 1927 in Byron, Minnesota. Her family moved to Rochester when she was a young girl, and she graduated from Rochester High School where she was a cheerleader.  She was afflicted with dementia, but could recite the Hullaballoo cheer perfectly up until her last day.  Over her lifetime she had worked at Rexall drug store, Dingle and Krieger Law Office, and retired from IBM in Rochester. Her retirement jobs included West Publishing, Pepin Heights Orchard, and Hansen's Harbor, in Lake City.  Fran loved her Lake Pepin cabin, Lake City, the Mississippi River, and her Spring Hill, Florida home.

Fran was a Life Master Bridge player, and also loved flea markets, playing shuffleboard, walking, travel, cooking, and buying clothes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James "Red" Cochran, partner Leonard Brumm, brothers Fred, Lester, Paul and Darrell Decker, son Brent, and beloved Boston Terrier Snoopy. She is survived by daughter Denise Cochran (Tim Dickson), son David Cochran (Mary), grandchildren Chelsea, Alex (Alyssa), Emily and Logan (Kamie), great grandchildren Cameron, Dylan and Lanie, sister Agnes "Dahl" Bailey, nephews, nieces, and numerous friends.

At Fran's request, her body was donated to the Mayo Clinic to further medical education and research.

The family wishes to thank the remarkable staff at Williamsburg Methodist Church Respite Program in Williamsburg, Virginia, and The Beehive Memory Care Home of Excelsior where she received loving care during her last year.
