Florence Drews age 99, went to be with Jesus on November 22 nd , 2025.
She was born in Little Falls, MN to Sylvester & Elizabeth Gosiak. After working on the farm, one of her first jobs was working for Honeywell during WWII in Minneapolis, MN. She married Arnold Drews, and they made their home in Rochester, MN raising one daughter, Sharon.
She worked in manufacturing and other jobs throughout her lifetime. In later years baby-sat. She made her home in Stewartville, MN for 40 + years before moving to Fairview Care center in Dodge Center, MN 3 years ago. Florence was steadfast in her devotion to God, and veteran's causes. She also loved to cook, bake, and put on elaborate Holiday feasts complete with decorations before her arthritis made it difficult.
Florence is survived by daughter, Sharon; nieces & nephews, Jeff (Jan), Scott (Tammie), Stacey, Deb (Mike), Carol, Diane, Kent, Nancy, Yale, David, Cynthia, Colleen, Norman Jr., Linda, Pamela, Janet, Gloria, Herbert Jr.; many great & great-great nieces, nephews, and friends.
Florence is preceded in death by parents, Sylvester & Elizabeth Gosiak; brother, Florian; sister-in-law, Rosemary; sister, Delores; husband, Arnold; In-laws, Emil & Clara Drews; great-great niece, Bailey; brothers & sister-in-law, Reinold, Regina, Richard, Emil Jr., Edwin, Norman, Herbert, Norbert, Blandina, Bernhard, Erwin; nieces & nephews, Raymond, Melvin, Leona, Kenny, Valerie, Patsy, Joann, and numerous friends. She is also preceded in death by beloved fur grand-babies.
A very special thank you to Dr. McKenzie and Mayo Clinic staff for their ongoing care, and a special thank you to the good friends she made during her time at the Fairview Care Center. Also a special thank you to the church volunteers that brought communion every week.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10 th , 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with a lunch to follow in the River Park Chapel Reception Hall. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 11 th , 2025. Enter gate 2, North of the main gate. All vehicles must be lined up at 12:15 p.m. at assembly point 3.
