The funeral for Evelyn "Steff" Mae Porter will be at 2:00pm June 29, 2012 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester with Rev. James Heining officiating.  A private burial will be at Zumbrota Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Porter, 76, of Rochester passed away peacefully at her home on Monday June 26, 2012

Evelyn "Steff" Mae Porter was born on September 24, 1935 in Red Wing, MN to Rudolph Steffens and Edna Steffens (Firl).  She was raised in Wanamingo and Zumbrota area.  She graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1954.  She moved to Rochester in 1955 and started working at Rochester Methodist Hospital.  She worked there for 25 years retiring in 1980.

She is survived by her son Jeffery Carl Porter of Rochester and her daughter Dawn I. Hollund of Rochester; 3 grandchildren, Cory Porter, Dana Hollund and Shawn Hollund; brother LuVerne (Lola) Steffens of Kansas City, MO. and sister-in-law Wanda Steffens of Zumbrota.  She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, one brother and one nephew.

Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
