Eugene "Gene" Lee Kreinbring, 83, of Rochester, passed away on October 11, 2026 at the Preston, MN State Veterans Home.

Gene was born to Herbert and Leanora Kreinbring on March 22, 1943 in Winona, MN.

He grew up in Lewiston, MN where he graduated from high school and was an accomplished athlete. A proud veteran, he served his country with honor as Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force. During his military service, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal and took great pride in his involvement with B-52 aircraft operations on combat missions in Southeast Asia. It was during this deployment that he acquired non-symptomatic Parkinson's Disease, which did not manifest itself until many years later.

On June 30, 1962, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Ryan in Lewiston. Together, they built a life rooted in family and devotion in Rochester. Following honorable discharge from the Air Force, Gene began work in Rochester for Norwest Bank (later Wells Fargo). He later left banking and was proud to have worked for the Adamson Motors family for over 35 years. Even in his retirement, he was often requested by customers to return and assist in finding just the right vehicle. Gene was a longtime member of Sertoma 700 Club in Rochester and could still be found on the golf course even when Parkinson's began to slow him down.

Above all, he cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Kreinbring; his granddaughters, Samantha Gehrking-Rossi of Libertyville, IL, and Aleasha Kreinbring of Racine, MN; his great-grandchildren, Louis and Marilyn; and his brothers, Roger Kreinbring and Ron (Nancy) Kreinbring, both of Rochester.

He is preceded in death by his son, Kurt Kreinbring; his sisters, Barbara McKeag and Beverly (childhood) and his brother, William Kreinbring.

The Memorial Service for Gene will be held at 12:00pm on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with visitation starting one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to the Preston, MN State Veterans Home or donor's choice.
