Emery William Van Hook

The funeral for Emery W. Van Hook will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Community Celebration Church of Kasson with Pastor Steve Larson officiating.  A private family burial will be on Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be an hour in advance of the service from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church on Wednesday.

Emery, 22, of Kasson died Friday June 24, 2011 from injuries received from an auto accident.

Emery was born May 8, 1989 in St. Cloud to E. John and Julie Van Hook.  As an infant he moved to Rochester and later to Kasson where he continued to live.  He graduated from Kasson Mantorville High School in 2007.  He later attended Crossroads Bible College in Rochester and Riverland Community College in Austin.

Survivors include his parents of Kasson, and sisters: Victoria K. Van Hook of Kasson,  Jennifer A. Van Hook of Albert Lea and Heidi M. Van Hook of Stillwater.  Emery is also survived by grandparents Ralph H. Krenz of Brownsville, Texas, Emory and Dorothy Van Hook of Rochester; aunts and uncles Mary (Dan) Ims, Beth (Victor) Hemmesch, Kevin (Julie) Krenz, Margaret (Kelly) Haugan, Jane (John) Olive, Dan Van Hook, Jim (Amy) Van Hook, Tami (Jamie) White and Bill Wentink; and was close to his many cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandmother Kathleen A. Krenz, and great grandparents William P. and Jeanette E. Wentink and Emery C. Van Hook.

Emery enjoyed all things concerning cars. He was a good friend to all and had a heart for helping those in need.  His parents never knew who would be at breakfast in the morning. Emery loved life, his family and friends. He is happy now watching over us all from heaven.  Please remember him that way.
