Elda Irma Decker, 98, of Rochester died on March 6, 2016 at Pathstone Living in Mankato. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00AM at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Elda was born September 17, 1917 in Cherry Grove Township, rural Goodhue County and grew up in rural Kasson. She married Fred Decker on July 29, 1938 and they made their home in Rochester. Elda worked for Dayton's for 26 years until her retirement in 1982 and also an usher at the Mayo Civic Auditorium for 10 years. She was an avid gardener and loved to crochet and spend time with her family and friends. Survivors include her grandson, Ron (Jody) Decker, granddaughter Sue Darge, grandson John Decker, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Helen Apfel, Frannie Cochran, Dahl Baily and daughter-in-law Sharon Decker. She was proceeded in death by her husband Fred, son Ron, 2 sisters, Hilda Brakke and Edna Hayden, 2 brothers, Rudy and Walter Apfel. Online condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com.
