The funeral for Elaine "Rita" Engelbrecht will be at 11:00am on Friday November 15, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Adam Koglin officiating.  Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery at 1:00pm on Saturday in Minneapolis, MN.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Elaine Rita (Lake) Engelbrecht, age 80, of Rochester passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul with family at her side.  She was born on February 21, 1933 to Leo and Antoinette Lake in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Rita moved with her family from Michigan to Minneapolis at the age of 12. She moved to Rochester from Minneapolis over 50 years ago with her husband.

She is survived by her brother Ed (Elaine) Lake and her sister Doreen Huse; nieces Carol (Jim) Vilender, Cathy Asunma, and Diane (Ed) Frederick; nephews Randy Asunma, Sean (Steph) Richardson, Dan Lake, Jamie Lake and Jason Lake; nieces Aimee (Steve) Strege and Stephanie (John).  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Duwayne E. "Duke" Engelbrecht who passed away on January 10, 1988 and one brother Paul Lake.

Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the American Cancer .
