Eileen Gertrude Nelson, age 82, passed away on September 1, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus.

Eileen Marien was born on January 27, 1933 near Kellogg, MN to Fred and Cecelia Marien. Her family moved to Rochester from Wabasha when she was a young girl. She attended Lourdes High School. She married Stanley "Ike" Nelson of Rochester; he passed in 2005. Eileen enjoyed many years of childcare out of her own home.

She is survived by her son Steven (Sandy) Nelson of Rochester, her sister Rita (Terry) Clement of Stewartville, her niece Kim (Warren) Swayze of Rochester, grandchildren Brian (Jenine) Nelson of Rochester, Kelly (Christopher) Schmidt of Milwaukee, WI great-grandchildren Carter and Bryce Nelson and Anna and Emma Schmidt.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers.

A funeral service for Eileen will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:30AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
