The funeral for Earle John Thomann will be at 1:00p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at Macken Funeral Home, with Pastor Fred Rengstorf officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Macken Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomann, 86, of Rochester, Minn., died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital.

Earle was born August 28, 1924 in West Bend, Iowa to Joseph and Emma (Christen) Thomann.  Earle served in the United States Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.  Mr. Thomann farmed in Iowa for 50 years and later moved to Rochester in 1975 where he worked at various churches as a custodian.  Earle married Shirley Lenn on August 16, 1975 in Rochester, Minn.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; one son, Raymond (Kris) Heckman of Mt. Vernon, TX; two daughters, Kelly Heckman and Kim Heckman both of Rochester, Minn.; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters.
