Obituary

A funeral Mass for E. Lorraine "Judy" Delaney, will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Madonna Towers Chapel in Rochester, MN, with Father Jim Russell officiating. Friends may visit one hour before the service at the Chapel.

Lorraine "Judy", 91, of Rochester, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Madonna Towers September 28, 2012. She was born July 24, 1921 in rural Chatfield to Rex and Nellie Delaney.

After high school ,she worked at Rochester Dairy for a year and a half while keeping her options open. Judy was also offered a job as a stewardess on an airline but quickly turned it down after hearing of a terrible plane crash. At 20 years old she started her career in banking and retired after 41 years as vice president of the commercial loan department and executive secretary at Marquette Bank. Judy enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, bowling, fishing, her summer home on Lake Zumbro and her beloved dog Sue. Her poise, charm and good looks won her the title of Rochester Queen of Beauty in July 1947.

Survivors include her sisters in law Eileen (Lyman) Delaney of Chatfield,  Dolores (Pat)  Delaney of Viola. Nieces and nephews, Jerry (Gail) Delaney, Dick (Patty) Delaney, Jack (Mary) Delaney, Tom (Kjersten) Delaney, Tim Delaney, Renee (Tom) Walker, Karen Delaney, Mary (Jason) Koehler, Paula Delaney and Phyllis Thacker, 20 great, 4 great greats and growing. She is preceded in death by her sister Mary (Don) Thompson, twin brother J. Lyman Delaney and brother Pat Delaney.

Judy will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield, MN.
