Dorothy Ellen Shannon, 79, of Rochester, MN passed away on April 21, 2018 at her home. Dorothy was born February 9, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska to James and Angie (Hawkins) Shannon.

She lived in North Dakota and Faribault prior to coming to Rochester. Dorothy attended PossAbilities in Rochester and later retired.

Dorothy loved watching "Come on Down" (Price is Right), going to the "Beer Tavern" (any restaurant), the "Money Store" (Casino), and going on vacations. Dorothy prided herself in looking nice, including painted nails and wearing her "Jewels".

Survivors include her sister, Karolyn Shannon of Geolta, CA; and two nieces and two nephews. She is lovingly remembered by her MN State Operated Community Services (MSOCS) staff and peers of 26 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, James Jr. (Pat) Shannon.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
