Mrs. Rownd, 97, of Rochester, MN, died peacefully Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Madonna Towers in Rochester.  Dorothy was born June 14, 1921 in Owatonna, MN to Louis and Anna Rishavy.

She married James E. Rownd on August 13, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, and moved to Rochester.  Her husband died in 1997.  Dorothy worked as a beautician and housekeeper at St. Marys Hospital for many years.  She was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Rochester.

Dorothy was very artistic, and especially fond of painting.  She was proud of her Czechoslovakian heritage, and spoke Bohemian regularly.  She enjoyed card playing and cooking, and took great care of everyone around her.

Survivors include two adopted sons, George (Mary) and Michael (Patty), both of Rochester, and three grandchildren, Louis, Henry, and Tony.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, and sisters Rose, Agnes, Frances, Anna, Sr. Francisca OSF, and her brother Louis.

A private memorial service has been held, and she was buried next to her husband in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
