The funeral Mass for Dorothy O'Brien will be at 12:00pm September 7, 2010 at St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester with Rev. Timothy Reker officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of the service at the church on Tuesday.

Mrs. O'Brien, age 100, of Rochester passed away on September 3, 2010 at Madonna Towers.

Dorothy was born on June 3, 1910 in Rochester to John and Mary (McKeown) Ellis and was raised in the Chatfield area.  In 1935 she married Daniel O'Brien.  She worked at Massey's Department store for many years.  Dorothy raised miniature white poodles and loved working in her garden.  She also enjoyed making crafts.

She is survived by two sons Thomas (Bonnie) of Gainesville, FL and Jim (Pam) of Byron; four grandchildren, Tammy Evans, Heather O'Brien, Kathy O'Brien and Christine O'Brien;  five great-grandchildren Brandon and Jeremy Evans, Jacob and Marshall Burrato, and Seamus Tignor; one brother Ambrose (Angie) Ellis of Reed's Landing and one sister Elizabeth Barrett of Rochester.  She is preceded in death by her husband who died July 1, 2001; two brothers and two sisters.

Memorial are preferred to Season's Hospice or St. Francis Catholic Church.
