Doris Marie Dowhaniuk, 71, of Rochester, MN, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009 at Maple Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness. Doris was born on August 11, 1938 in Regent, N.D. Her family came to Rochester in  1969.  She began work at Mayo Clinic as an LPN and continued until her retirement in 1983.  She loved to read, and was known as kind-hearted person.

She is survived by a daughter, Lori Dowhaniuk of Rochester and a son, Loren Dowhaniuk of Colorado. Two grandchildren, Madison and Jaden Dowhaniuk.  She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Allen Dowhaniuk.

There will be a memorial gathering from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Macken Funeral Home.
