Dores Myra Sparrow of Rochester, Minnesota died peacefully at her home on August 2, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Dores was born March 23, 1916 in Simpson, Minnesota to Charles and Elzada Lowrie. She grew up in rural Pleasant Grove, Minnesota, married Stewart Sparrow on November 27,1935 in Rochester, and the couple farmed in Marion Township. Dores was a life-time member of the Marion Church of Christ in Marion, Minnesota. In her younger years she enjoyed playing cards, riding horse and was a caretaker for many members of her family. Dores was a homemaker and employed at Libby's/Seneca Foods for over 30 years. She loved visiting with friends and having family over for holidays and special events. Her door was always open for anyone who needed a meal or a place to stay. Her strength, kindness and compassion will be missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by two daughters Carolyn (Arnold) Bjerke, Sharon (Glen) Moreland both of Rochester. Four grandchildren Roger (Colleen) Bjerke, Ken (Samantha) Moreland, Kim (Tim) Cary, and Pam (Greg) Swenson in addition to nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and long-time friend, Lorna Outcalt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart, and two sisters Irene Renken and Maxine Crowson.

The Funeral Service for Dores will be held at Marion Church of Christ (5296 65 ^th Ave SE Rochester, MN 55904) on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00AM with Pastor Rick Walston officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester. The family prefers memorials be written to the Marion Church of Christ.
