Donald "Red" C. Harris, age 83 of Rochester, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital.

Red was born on February 2, 1929 in Rochester to Nelson and Floy Harris.  He married Betty Jane Larson in Rochester in 1948. Red worked at the Rochester State Hospital, Bowman Wholesale, and Huey's Liquor before starting his own business, Red's Upholstery. He retired after over 40 years in the upholstery business. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, bird watching and being close to his family.

Red is survived by his wife, Betty, a daughter, Rita Eyre of Rochester, sons Robert (Marni) Harris of Rochester, and Ronald (Julia) Harris of Stewartville, two sisters, Violet Brownlow of Rochester and Arlene Vanderberg of Stewartville, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Cindy Harris.

A funeral service for Red will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
