Diane Marlene
Reising
November 18, 1941 – March 14, 2026
Diane M. (Ellingson) Reising
Diane Marlene (Ellingson) Reising, 84, of Rochester, MN, went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2026.
Born on November 18, 1941, in Northfield, to Melford and Minnie (Tholen) Ellingson.
On June 1, 1963, Diane married Jerome "Jerry" Reising and in 1966, they moved to Rochester. Their marriage was a partnership that lasted more than fifty years. The couple shared a love of travel, visiting destinations such as Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Norway.
Faith played a central role in Diane's life. She was deeply involved in her church community and found great meaning in her spiritual life. Diane was known for her lovely singing voice and many remember how beautifully it carried through the sanctuary.
Diane and Jerry helped many newly-arriving refugees establish their new lives in this country. They became part of the family and often spent holidays together.
Diane was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in both clinical and private duty. She loved learning and had a creative streak. Later in life she went to school to become a horticulturist, and also earned an adult learner scholarship for bookkeeping using her skills working in the St. Pius X church office.
She is survived by her loving children — Dr. Joseph (Judy) Reising, North Mankato, Maria (Paul) Buehler, Pennsylvania, and Daniel Reising, Rochester — and grandchildren — Jacob Goldblatt, Dr. Benjamin Goldblatt and Ian Buehler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her daughter, Angel; her sisters Marlys Ellingson and Sandra (Michael) Stephens, and brother Robert Ellingson. She is survived by siblings Linda (Dennis) Belz, Florida, Judy (John) Montoya, Farmington, MN, and John Ellingson, Minneapolis along with nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at 10:00am, Friday, March 27, 2026, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. A rosary will be recited at 10:50 am followed by an 11:00 am memorial service officiated by Fr. John Sauer at River Park Chapel.
The family will have a private burial.
