Delphine Joan
Burt
December 2, 1935 – October 13, 2021
Delphine Joan Burt, 85, of Rochester, MN died Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Madonna Meadows.
Delphine was born December 2, 1935 in Kenyon, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Mabel (Heltne) Remold. There, she was raised and attended school, graduating from Kenyon High School. She moved to Rochester, MN and worked at St. Marys Hospital in the dietary kitchen. She later became a homemaker in her home.
She was united in marriage to Everett Burt Jr. on June 16, 1956 in Zumbro Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN.
Delphine was special to all who knew her. She enjoyed farm life, raising beef cattle, pigs, and especially, German Shepherds. She was an active member of the Zumbro Lutheran Church, making lefse with other church members. At Christmas, she helped the church with the Christmas Bazaar. She also enjoyed her involvement with 4-H, the Cascade Cruisers. Her children participated in fair entries.
She was known for her holiday Norwegian baking. Her grandchildren loved her thin frosted roll out cookies and peanut blossoms. Going on drives and trying out new restaurants was an enjoyable afternoon for her and Everett. She enjoyed country music and doing crossword puzzles, along with playing 500 cards with neighborhood friends; she was always a "light" bidder. Lastly, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family.
Delphine is survived by her children, Nancy Jensen (Dan Hunter) of Plainview, MN, Gene Burt of Rochester, MN, and Paul (Anita "LeAne") Burt of Rochester, MN; 6 grandchildren, Tara (Nick), Kayla, Mali, Bradly, Adler, and Everett; step-grandchild, Mercedes "Sadie" Nelson; and 5 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Henry, Evelyn, Lucas, and Vincent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; her parents, Carl and Mabel Remold; sisters, Mavis Oeltjenbruns, Marilyn Dahl, and Alice Riess.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Zumbro Lutheran Church with Rev. Jason Bryan-Wegner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery.
