Delores Elaine Helland, 84, of Rochester, MN, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024.
Delores was born on July 3, 1940, in Genoa, MN to Raymond and Kathryn Patchin (Harms). She married Edwin Helland on July 16, 1960, at the First Methodist Church in Rochester, MN. They were married for 60 years until Ed's passing in 2020.
Delores was a homemaker and worked for IBM in the cafeteria after her children were all in school.
Delores's interests included sewing and when her children were young, she would make their clothes, often matching outfits for her two daughters. She was an avid quilter. Delores did Ceramics for many years. She decorated cakes for her children's birthdays and events. She was very creative and did a variety of crafts. Delores was a wonderful cook and well known for her homemade tacos that included making the taco shell from scratch. Every year during Christmas time she made handmade gingerbread cut outs from scratch with her own templates along with homemade icing. Each of her three children and some friends/relatives got to assemble and decorate their own gingerbread house. She continued this tradition with her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were always a priority to Delores.
