Della Mae Rasmusson passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 surrounded by her family at Madonna Towers in Rochester, MN.

Della was born in Cresco, Iowa on August 13 ^th , 1920 to Fay and Elfreida (Munkel) Farnsworth.  On October 23 ^rd , 1939 she married Lee Rasmusson.  Throughout the many years, they made their home and raised eight children in the surrounding areas of Northeast Iowa and Southeastern MN.

Della loved her family, often saying how blessed she was to have such a wonderful family who stuck together.  Her many grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Della's memory was amazing, as she could always share any of her family's special dates, birthdays, weddings, graduations – she recalled them all. She had a welcoming personality, frequently opening the family home to visitors and unexpected guests.

Della had many interests and talents.  She especially enjoyed gardening, needlework, playing cards, and was an avid reader.  She especially enjoyed just visiting with dear friends and family.  Della was a long time member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester, where she was involved in the Women's Circle.

Della is survived by her children; Joyce (Marv) Clark of Portland Oregon, Lyla Hagemeister,  Mary (Wes) Clark of Rochester, Linda Rasmusson, Glenn (Sharon) Rasmusson of Spring Valley , Gail Rasmusson,  Steve (Jackie) Rasmusson of Rochester,  daughter-in-law Martha Rasmusson,  13 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren, two sisters, Vivian Shields and Edyth Tupper, two brothers, Lee Farnsworth and Fay Farnsworth.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, two sons, Roger and John (Martha) Rasmusson, her grandson Tim Rasmusson,  her parents, three sisters, Virginia Necas, Goldie Rudlong and June Smith, and three brothers, Roger Farnsworth, Jerry Farnsworth and Neil Farnsworth.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 10 ^th , 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Avenue SW) in Rochester with the Pastor Martha Hendricks officiating.  The family will receive guests for the visitation an hour prior to the service at the church.
