Deborah Jeanne Sehl, beloved daughter of Gertrude B. Sehl and the late Francis Sehl, born December 11, 1952, passed away peacefully at her home in Rochester on July 26, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
Deb graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester, and Fontbonne College in St. Louis, MO.
Deb was a high school teacher and taught business at Woodbridge High School (Woodbridge, VA) for over 25 years. She was very proud of the impact she had on her students, and was an avid fan and loyal supporter of her students' sports teams.
She will be missed by her mother, Beatrice; loving siblings; Ed (Jeri) Sehl, Sue (Carl) Rowold, Cheri (Larry) Estes, Cindy (Jim) Schmit, Pam (Barry) Zins, John (Donna) Sehl, Sheila (Rick) Hutchison, Mike (Jenny) Sehl, Marty (Theresa) Sehl, Jim (Wendy) Sehl, Maureen (Fred) Owusu, and Shaun Sehl; 22 nieces and nephews; and 13 grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis and one sister, Barb and infant brother, Anthony Joseph.
Deb loved cats, especially her two Persians, Vegas and Reno (who lived to be 22).
With a December birthday, Deb loved Christmas, and collected snowmen figurines and Snow Village houses. Her happiest times were spent visiting with her family during the holidays, and other family occasions.
A funeral Mass will be at 11:00AM, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Rev. David Byrne officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00PM – 8:00PM Wednesday, July 30, 2014, River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Paws and Claws.
