Obituary

Dawne Christine Weeks Pyles was born September 28, 1936 in Rochester, Minnesota and passed away on May 30, 2022 in Jones, Oklahoma. She was an artist who worked in fiber arts, painting and mixed media. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a B.A. in Liberal Arts at the age of 55. She worked as an administrative assistant for the UMKC Medical School and later for the City of Overland Park. She was an avid sports fan and watched the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Kansas City Chiefs while crocheting blankets for a new grandchild or charity fundraiser. She contributed many years of service to the recovery community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Maxine Weeks, and her son, Jayson Pyles. She is survived by her sister, Angela Ellison (Jordan, MN) and brother, Richard Weeks, Jr. (Milford, PA), her son and his wife, Tommy Pyles, Jr. and Korkie Pyles (Pittsburg, KS), and Loretta Pyles and her husband Ted Mehl (Delmar, NY). She has 10 grandchildren — April, Carrie, Erica, Stefan, Emily, Blake, Chandler, Preston, Seth and Rachel, and 14 great-grandchildren – Isaac, Helyn, Kira, Ari, Coldin, Kayden, Cameron, Harper, Merritt, Nolan, Finlee, Thomas, Dora and Silvio.

A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, MN on June 11th, attendees should meet at 12:45pm at the cemetery gates, and the service will start at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund in her name – https://gofund.me/c7ee618d .
