The Memorial Mass for Dawn Jeanette Ehret will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 17, 2014 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul E. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday July 16, 2014 at Macken Funeral Home and one hour before the service on Thursday.

Ms. Ehret, 53, of Rochester, died Thursday July 10, 2014 in Rochester.

Dawn was born October 16, 1960 in Austin, Minnesota to Duane and Darleen Ferguson Hansen. She graduated from Austin High School in 1979. In September of 1991 she married Bill Ehret and they later divorced. Dawn was a waitress at  the Riviera Supper Club in Austin for many years, and later managed the deli at Barlow's Hy-Vee where she was known as "Deli Dawn". Dawn also worked at Michaels Restaurant, The Rochester Athletic Club, and she volunteered at Assisi Heights, and Paws and Claws.

Survivors include her two daughters, Ashley Ehret of Rochester and Hannah Ehret of Rose Creek, MN., her parents Duane and Darleen Hansen of Rochester, her brothers Derrick (Terrie) Hansen and Dallas Hansen of Rochester and her sister Dianne (Paul) Fitzgerald of St. Michael, Minnesota, her long time companion Steve Ruffalo of Rochester, many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Dawn loved animals, especially her dogs Milton, Mable, and Mildred. She also loved riding and showing quarter horses, and loved gardening.

Memorials are preferred to the family.
