David Stoner, 64, of Rochester, MN died August 25, 2022 at home surrounded by family.

He was born in Fort Dodge, IA on December 15, 1957 to Lillian and Raymond Stoner. Raised in Rochester, he graduated from John Marshall High School in '76, then graduated with a BS in Anthropology from UM Minneapolis. He later got his master's degree in project management from St. Mary's University in 2011.

As a young man, he traveled the world: Nepal, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, India, and Hong Kong. During these travels, he met the love of his life, Marites (Mary) who he married in 2005 after 5 years of courtship. Their son, Will, was born in Taiwan. After many years teaching in Taiwan and Japan, he returned to MN and in his final years, he was a successful insurance broker with Golden Care.

He loved to paint, loved music, and was skilled playing organ and classical guitar. What he most loved was spending time with his family, because he was a sweet, kind, gentle, brilliant man who fully enjoyed his family. They did everything together.

He is survived by his wife Marites; son, Will; mother, Lillian; brothers, Loren (Becky), Gary (Lucia) Paul (Jo), and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.

The memorial service for David will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 11:00AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Reception to follow.
