David Gerald Murray, 57, of Elk Mound, WI, formerly of Rochester passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by family, following a short, courageous battle with a very rare cancer.

Mr. Murray was born August 2, 1961 in Rochester, MN to Gerald and Ruth (Wacker) Murray. He grew up in Rochester. He and his former wife (Terri Kocer) raised their two children in Austin, TX and Farmington, MN. David later moved to his piece of heaven in Elk Mound with his fiancé, Pam.

David was a square dance caller, avid hunter and had a meticulous way of maintaining a perfect yard. His outgoing humorous personality and his love for life, will be forever missed.

David is survived by his fiancé, Pam Winkler of Elk Mound, WI; his son, Ryan (Anne) of Farmington, MN; and his daughter, Megan of Blaine, MN. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Murray of Rochester, MN; Pam's children, Sara (Daniel), Joseph (Jenna), and Jacob (Brittney); his eight grandchildren, Ryland, Cadeyn, Bryson, Wyatt, Wyatt, Neil, Haley, and Jaxon.; his brothers, Denny and Scott; and his sister, Peggy.

He is preceded in death by his father.

The memorial service for Dave will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 25 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Visitation will be held half hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

The family prefers memorials be sent to Mayo Clinic Hospice.
