The Funeral Service for Darrel Bacon will be at 1:00PM Friday, September 5, 2014 at Midwest Bible Baptist Church in Rochester with Pastor David Earnhart officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post 92.

Darrel Bacon, 76, of Stewartville, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital.

He was born on August 29, 1938 at Byron, Minnesota.  He graduated from Byron High School in 1957 and entered the U.S. Navy where he served 4 years.  He retired from Crenlo after 40 years.  He was currently a resident of the Stewartville Care Center.

On November 24, 1962, he married Judy Berg in Rochester.  Judy survives.

In addition to his wife, Darrel is survived by one brother, Paul (LaVonne) Bacon, 3 sisters, Janet (Eddie) Dostel, Judy Hanna and Marge Weatherly.  He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne, sister, LaDonna and his parents.

He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing.
