Dale James Crowley passed away peacefully on May 24, 2016, at age 81, at his home surrounded by his family.
Dale was born on March 8, 1935, in Stewartville, MN. He graduated from Lourdes High School in 1954. Dale married the love of his life Phyllis King on November 27, 1954. He served in the army 1954-1956. Dale started working for Coca-Cola in 1952, working on the bottling line to help support his Mother and later became Manager of the Rochester plant and eventually the General Manager of the Rochester-Owatonna-Austin Bottling Company. He was dedicated to the City of Rochester where he was involved in youth sports, Chamber of Commerce, Special Olympics and a member of the Elks Club, Eagles Club, Toastmasters and Sertoma. His favorite things to do were spend time with his family, golf, and travel. Dale was an inspiration to many in his life and will be greatly missed. He will always be remembered by his infectious laugh, his uncanny sense of humor and his positive energy.
Dale is survived by his wife, Phyllis Crowley of Rochester; son, Jeffrey (Marla) Crowley of Buffalo, MN; daughter, Peggy (Cliff) Knoll of Casselton, ND; daughter, Theresa (James) Grant of Rochester, MN; son, Scott (Cheryl) Crowley of Rochester, MN; daughter, Kathy (Greg) Berger of Burnsville, MN; son, Greg (Suzan) Crowley of Rochester, MN. Dale is also survived by seventeen (17) grandchildren and sixteen (16) great-grandchildren; one sister Carol Gage of Rochester, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Dale is preceded in death by his Father Thomas; Mother Edith; four (4) brothers and six (6) sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Revs. Paul Nelson and Mark McNea officiating. Luncheon will be immediately following the Mass. Visitation will be from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, Monday, May 30, 2016 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Mayo Clinic Hospice, Ronald McDonald House and St. Pius X Catholic Church.
