Cynthia Lynn (Cramer) Reed, 59, of Rochester, MN lost her battle with cancer Thursday, August 18th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Cynthia was born in Rochester, MN on May 13th, 1957 to John "Merlin" and Donna (Baier) Cramer. She grew up in Chatfield and graduated from Chosen Valley High school in 1975. Cindy continued on to receive her undergraduate degree from Concordia University and her MBA in Organizational Management from Augsburg College.
Cindy married Steven Oldre in 1975 and they had three daughters, Jessica, Rebecca and Sarah. They later divorced and Cindy married Kenneth "KC" Reed in 1988 and they had a son Conner.
Cindy worked at the Mayo Clinic for 41 years where she held several different positions. She served most recently as a manager for protocol development, managing clinical trials at the Cancer Research Center and was the recipient of the Karis Humanitarian Award.
Cindy was a member of St. John's Catholic parish. In her free time, she was an avid collector of Red Wing pottery and antiques. She was an active member of several quilting groups and loved to share her passion through gifting her creations. Music was also an integral part of her life starting as a young child playing piano, clarinet, and guitar. Of all the things that brought her joy, none compare to the love she had for her children and grandchildren.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents William and Evelyn Cramer and Louie and Mildred Baier.
She is survived by her parents Merlin and Donna Cramer of Chatfield; three brothers Daniel Cramer of Omaha, Michael (Vicki) Cramer of Chatfield, and Brian Cramer of Owatonna; her husband KC of Rochester; her children Jessica Hughes of Rochester, Rebecca Hanson of Mahtomedi, Sarah (Lance) Niehus of Otsego and Conner (Teresa) Reed of Rochester; and her eight grandchildren Jennifer, Sarah, Elliot, Anthony, Matisse, Ethan, Louisa, and Vivien.
The visitation will be held at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home, Rochester on Friday, August 26th, 2016 at 3:00pm with Memorial Services at 4:00pm.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to establish an education fund for her grandchildren; c/o Sarah Niehus, 15466 77th St NE, Otsego MN 55330.
