Curtis was born in Lanesboro, MN to Howard and Gertrude Olstad. He lived in Rochester until his death in St. Marys Hospital on August 7, 2021. On August 6, 2021 he was admitted to St. Marys ER with lung, heart and kidney failure. His last hours were with his wife at his side and his hand in hers, as he passed on to God's loving hands. August 14, 2021 was there 58 ^th anniversary.

He graduated from Lanesboro High and he enlisted in the US Army on December 7, 1960. He was discharged on December 6, 1962. He was employed at St. Marys for 41 years before retirement.

His first love was Pat and his family. His second love was the MN Vikings and Gophers. He loved to read and travel. He also loved Bethel Church, where they have been members for 50+ years.

Their vacation years took them by car to the entire coastal areas of the USA. They visited all 50 states – Hawaii twice and Alaska, his retirement trip, was his favorite. They spent 7 days on land and 7 days by cruise ship. They also took many driving trips to South Dakota, flights to Las Vegas and Don Laughlin's, and went whale watching off Cape Cod. Curt loved his coffee. Cruise ship waiters called him Coffee Curt.

Curt is survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Richard Curtis (Gigi) of NE and Randy Lee (fiancé, Anita Moore) of TN; grandsons, Richard (Phuong) and Brandon (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Titus, Amaris, and Benjamin; sister, Carol Lange; sisters-in-law, Sherry Kingsbury, Christine Olson; brothers-in-law, Ed Raustad, Manford Lange, and Wayne Kingsbury; and nieces and nephews, Mark, Chris, Blake, Rob, Corey, Todd, Kim, Troy, Wendy, Stephen, Naomi, and Mike

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gertrude; sister, Cheryl; brother-in-law, Ron Olson; and great-grandchild, Lily.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lanesboro Cemetery.
