Curtis Leo Kalmes, 90, of Rochester, Minnesota, died January 31, 2019 at St Marys Hospital.

Curt was born on Januray 9, 1929 in Winona, Minnesota to Leo and Erma (Kramer) Kalmes.

He married Maxine Rupprecht on August 4,1950 at St Johns Catholic Church in Rochester, Minnesota. Curt graduated from Lewiston High School in 1947. He had a 40 year career at Mayo Clinic Rochester, was president of the Mayo Clinic Credit Union for many years, a member of the Rochester Catholic School Board, and a member of the St Pius Council.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, camping and golfing in the Mayo Clinic Golf League and spending time at their lake place in Shell Lake Wisconsin with family

He is survived by his children, Bruce (Patricia) of Andover, Mark (Karen) of Rochester, MN, Sue Paxton (Merle) of Rochester, MN and Mary Rahman (Dave) of Rochester, MN; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; and a sister, Arlene (Tom) Burns of Rochester, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Erma; and a brother LeRoy.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5th at St Pius Catholic Church in Rochester, MN with Rev. Russell Scepaniak and Rev. Michael Cronin as an officant. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 4th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
