Obituary

Clarence "Clix" Schwieters, 82, of Rochester passed away peacefully at his home after battling metastatic colon cancer for the last 12 years.  At the time of his passing, Clix was surrounded by his family, friends and dedicated partner, Georgette.

Clix was born to Claude and Elizabeth Schwieters in New Munich, Minnesota on September 5, 1935.  He graduated from St Johns Prep in St. Joseph, MN. Clix received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.  He worked 30 years at IBM, retiring in 1991.  After retirement, he worked 22 seasons as a tax preparer for H&R Block and 28 seasons at Northern Hills Golf Course.

Clix is survived by his partner, Georgette Dolan; his son, Mike of Mequon, WI, son, Dave (Karen) of Rochester, son, Jim (Dana) of Lakeville, MN, and daughter, Mary (Jim) of Owatonna; and eight grandchildren, Lauren, John, Tim, Hannah (Mike), Zach, Riley, Megan, and Jakob.  He is also survived by Georgette's sons, Cole (Jana) of La Crosse WI, Cain (Anne) of Oronoco; and grandson, Crew; sisters, Mary Ann Sauerer of Winona, Marlene (Larry) Herickhoff of Woodbury; brothers, Jerry (Kathy) Schwieters of Sartell MN, and Arnie (Linda) Schwieters of St. Paul.  Clix was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Ivy.

Clix was strong in his faith, he loved the game of golf and he was an amazing father and grandfather.  He was loved by so many, and all who knew him, loved him!  He will be missed.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Pax Christi Catholic Church with the Rev. William Thompson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pax Christi Church, Olmsted Medical Center Regional Foundation, or Mayo Hospice.
