Cheri A. Clark, age 61, of Rochester died October 28, 2009 at her home, following a three-month battle with cancer.
Cheri was born in Rochester on August 25, 1948, the daughter of Joseph and Sis (Lindberg) Guzinski. She graduated from John Marshall High School. She married James J. Clark in Rochester in 1966, and the couple later divorced in 1993.
She is survived by her father, Joseph Guzinski of Rochester, her brother Joe (Pam) Guzinski and her niece Sarah of Rochester, her close personal friend Cliff Hewitt, his three sons, and six grandchildren, Cheri's two daughters: Melissa Clark (Paul) Freetly of Rochester and Jamie Jo (Brent) Johnson of Rochester. Four grandchildren: Danielle and Nora Freetly and Hailey and Michael Johnson. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Cheri was an active member of the Olmsted County DFL, having worked many political campaigns. She was one of the founding members of the Olmsted County DFL Women's Club. She was an accomplished gardener and rock collector, spending many hours working in her yard. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and companion.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, November 1st, 2009 at 6:00PM at Macken Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to services. Memorials are suggested to Mayo Hospice, or to the family, to be used towards a memorial park bench in her name. Macken Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
