Charles John "Chuck" Melby, died on October 24, 2026 at Rochester Methodist Hospital following a courageous, five-year battle with cancer.

Chuck was born on November 8, 1952 in Owatonna, MN to Nordean and Joyce (Blouin) Melby. He grew up on a farm in Pratt, MN and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1970. Chuck worked at Rochester Park and Recreation as Arborist for 41 years, retiring in 2014. He Married Roseann Griffin on February 21, 1981. Together they raised their two daughters, Alyssa Melby and Leah (Jake) Malek. Besides his family, his passions included fishing and hunting and he could hold conversations with anyone and everyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Roseann of 45 years, daughters Alyssa Melby of Rochester, Leah (Jake) Malek of Montgomery, MN, three grandsons Miles, Jhett, Gage, siblings Carol Gunderson of LeSueur, MN, and Steve (Beth) Melby of Albuquerque, NM.
