Charles E. Brown, 93, of Rochester died on Friday, October 16, 2015 at his residence. His funeral will be Tuesday, October 20th  at 2:30PM in the River Park Chapel of Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating.  The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.  Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

Charlie was born March 11, 1922 in Campbell, WI to Charles and Myrtle Brown.  He graduated from Melrose High School in 1939.  On November 24, 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air force as a B24 mechanic and gunner with a total of 2 years of service in the European theater during World War II.  On November 15, 1947, he married Janis A. Ristow in North Bend, WI.  The couple lived in Barron, WI until 1965 before moving to Rochester where they have continued to reside.  Charlie worked as a farm manager and later as an auto body mechanic.  He enjoyed talking to people and spending time with his granddaughters.

Survivors include Janis, his wife of 67 years, three sons, and two granddaughters: Charles (Doris) of Rochester, William (Linda and Cara) of Rochester, and Daniel (Barb and Sarah) of Marinette, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the  Mayo Clinic Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, Gonda 4 in Rochester.
