Carroll Veer, 92, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Edenbrook Care Center.

Carroll was born February 21, 1928 in Titonka, IA to Carl and Harmina Veer. He worked on the family farm until he moved to Rochester in 1955. He married Doris Marie Johnson on March 4, 1956 in Tracy, MN. They raised their three children in Rochester. Carroll worked at Crenlo for 39 years. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.

Carroll was the president of the Southern Minnesota Sportsman's Club in 1963 and stayed an active member until his death. He won many awards for his marksmanship and passed down his interest in shooting to next generations. Carroll also worked as a gunsmith in the Rochester area for many years. He was on the Olmsted County Sheriff Reserve in the 1960s.

In later years, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandson. He kept himself busy doing projects around the house. He also enjoyed working part-time at Wild Goose Sports.

Carroll is survived by his children, Linda (Dennis) Sybrant of Rochester, Jerry Veer of Austin, MN, and Sharon (Paul) Myhrom of Rochester; grandson, Roger Myhrom of Minneapolis; and sister, Gertrude (Glen) Zabel of Elgin, MN.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris; his parents; and his twin brother, Carl.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Rochester. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Mask and safe social distancing protocols will be in place. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN.
