Carol Jeanne Sonderup, 80, of Rochester, MN passed away on Saturday, October 18 ^th , 2025.

Carol was born on March 31 ^st , 1945, in Watertown, MN to Walter and Verna Sonderup.  After graduating high school, she went to Rochester Community College and got a 2-year degree in nursing.  For the next 23 years, she worked at Mayo Clinic as a nurse.

Carol had a deep appreciation for literature, particularly works centered on Christianity, autobiographies, and the study of human nature. She found joy in exploring Minnesota through day trips with close friends, embracing the beauty and simplicity of shared experiences. Above all, Carol cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters, and valued meaningful conversations with both loved ones and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, Mike and her granddaughters, Sarah and Morgan. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Darrell and Dick.

The funeral service will be at 11am on Monday, October 27th, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Karen Foster officiating.
