Carol Jean Aylsworth was born March 3, 1924 to Floyd and Emily Yetter in Anamosa, IA. She lived all over Iowa growing up and went camping with her family up along the North Shore.

Carol married William Aylsworth in June 1952. They lived in Des Moines and Newton, IA before making Rochester, MN home. They were blessed with five children, Sherry, Karen, Steve, Wes and Rick. They traveled around the US and Canada camping and having many adventures together as a family. Bill died in May of 1978. The North Shore has remained a favorite destination.

Carol was a world traveler, visiting all seven continents of the world. She enjoyed learning about the world and never stopped studying many topics. Many of those studies were inspirations for her travels. Carol was also accomplished at needlepoint and has many pieces that she has shared with friends and family.

Carol was involved at the church in many capacities for over 50 years. She was involved with a Bible study group up until two years ago. She maintained her faith and continued to support the church. Carol went home to see those preceding her on September 14, 2017.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (Gene) Stern of Rochester, Steve (Carol) Aylsworth of Chatfield, Wes (Jessie) Aylsworth of Loretto, and Rick Aylsworth of Predmore. Carol is also survived by eight grandchildren, Amanda, Paul, Jill, Brent, Jason, Samantha, Beth, and Amy; and one son-in-law, Joel Eikenhorst of Lakewood Ranch, FL. Preceding Carol in death were her parents; husband, Bill; daughter, Karen; grandson, Daniel; and sister, Verna Mae.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday, September 19th at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester with Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
