Carl Cronk, 59, of Rochester Dies.
Carl Cronk, died unexpectedly Friday February 11th at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Resident of Rochester since 1983. Carl was born in Pierre, South Dakota on October 22, 1951 to Harry and Judy Cronk. He first attended school in Bellingham and Deming in Washington State. Carl then attended Wykoff High school and Graduated in the class of 1970. He worked for Thompson Motors in Wykoff, then Enlisted in the Navy in 1971 and served 6 years. When he returned from service overseas he worked for D&R Star Novelty of Rochester. Carl was married on December 10, 1977 to Lucila De Guzman from the Philippines they had 2 children, Marilou and Michael Cronk. Carl was hired in 1978 by IBM and retired in 2002. During his work at IBM Carl attended technical school and earned his associates degree. He still found time to return to service in the Air Force for close to 10 years. During retirement he chose to work at Pemstar of Rochester, MN. Also during his retirement Carl and Lucy lived In the Philippines and adopted a son Justin Cronk. Carl served for 2 branches of the Armed Forces the United States Navy and Air Force. Carl was preceded in death by his daughter Marilou, father Harry Cronk and Mother Judy Cronk. He is survived by his wife Lucila and 2 sons, Michael and Justin, one brother, Dwayne Cronk and one sister, Kay Cronk, along with many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
The funeral service for Carl will be at the River Park Chapel Macken Funeral Home on Wednesday February 16 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Harry Jewison officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday February 15 at the River Park Chapel Macken Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
