Our dear brother, Brian Savage, 57, of Rochester, passed away at home on Monday, November 9, 2020.
Brian was born in Grand Forks, ND on February 9, 1963. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1981. In 1987, he attended Mankato State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in March of 1991. In 1992, he proceeded to the place of his birth to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He graduated in May of 1995 with a Master of Arts, focusing on geography and computer cartography. His thesis centered on his passion for the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area in Montana, concentrating on preservation verses conservation. In 1996, Brian started his 24 year career at Mayo Clinic as a computer specialist at the help desk.
His many interests and passions included a wide range of music, from classical to techno and great literature. He was also interested in astronomy and the workings of the universe. He was inspired by many, including Eric Sevareid, the author of "Not So Wild a Dream" and his family, especially our dear father and mother. He will be severely missed by many.
Brian is survived by his sister, Cheryl Savage and brother, Howard Savage, both of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marlys Savage of Rochester.
A Celebration of Life for Brian will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 10:30. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
