The memorial Mass for Brett G. Kirgis will be 11:00 A. M. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with Reverend Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service.

Brett died Monday, January 21, 2013, at his home in Eagan, MN from natural causes.

Brett was born September 24, 1975 to Grant and Penny (Berndt) Kirgis in Rochester, Minnesota. He attended Lourdes High School graduating in 1994. Brett was involved in Boy Scouts, loved camping and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.  He attended Rochester Community College and Inver Grove Heights Community College.

Brett was recently employed by DCM Services in Minneapolis, and prior to that, he had worked at Ace Lawn Mower in Miami, Fl. Brett was also employed at various hospitality establishments in the Minneapolis and Rochester areas.

He is survived by his parents Grant and Penny (Berndt) Kirgis, his sister and brother -in-law, Lisa (Mike) Mudra, his maternal grandparents, Milo and Phyllis Berndt and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ludwig and Elaine Kirgis.

Brett was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching all football teams.
