Obituary

The funeral Mass for Bernard J. "Bernie" Ring will be Wednesday, May 26 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rochester, MN with Father Paul Nelson and Father Charlie Collins celebrating the Mass. A graveside  service is scheduled for 11:00AM Thursday, May 27, at Calvary Cemetery.

Bernard Joseph Ring, 60, of Rochester, MN died Friday (May 21, 2010) at Golden East Living Center in Rochester.

He was born February 5, 1950, in Northwood, ND. He graduated from Northwood High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1971. On August 5, 1972 he married Mary Ann Votava at St. John's Catholic Church in Grafton, ND. His wife survives.

Bernard received his Certified Public Accounting license and had worked for various CPA firms in Rochester until April, 2009.  He was a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the  Minnesota Society of CPA's. He was also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and had been active in the Rochester Rotary Club.

He was a proud member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) military program in college and served in the Military Police Reserve Unit in Rochester.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ring, Rochester; and three sons James Alan Ring, Blaine, MN; Paul Francis Ring, Rochester; and Michael Parker Ring, Rochester, MN; one granddaughter, Kayla Ring, Blaine, MN.

His brother Donald R. Ring of Villard, MN also survives.  Bernard was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at Macken Funeral Home, Rochester and for one hour prior to the Mass at the church Wednesday. Online condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com.
