Barbara "Barb" Janette Baker lost her battle with Alzheimer's on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester.

Barbara was born July 16, 1940 in Moorhead, MN to Neils C. and Mary L. (Burkett) Gade. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1958. On July 23, 1960, Barb married her high school sweetheart, Harley F. Baker. The couple lived in Moorhead, Badger, Alexandria and Preston, MN before settling in Rochester in 1978.

Barb is survived by her husband; daughter Sue (Pete) Bromelkamp; son Mike (Deb) Baker; grandchildren Jessi (Dan) Flaaen, Nikki (AJ) Yusten, Shawn Bromelkamp, Kyle (Sarah) Baker, Alyssa Baker, Tim (Ashley) Baker, and Justin (Bridget) Sanborn; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters Jan (Joe) Swenson and Jeanne (Clint) Hall.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Sidney Gade; and son Alan Baker.

A family funeral service will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's Research Center, the Alzheimer's Foundation, or  Channel One Regional Food Bank.
