The memorial service for Avis C. Fix will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Buller officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Avis Fix, 87, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester.  She was born Avis Catherine Schmidt on October 10, 1923 in Springfield, South Dakota.  She moved to Spring Valley, MN at age 14.  She married James V. Delaney on November 22, 1950.  James passed away on January 1, 1965.  Avis then married Owen Fix on May 13, 1967.  Owen passed away on July 17, 1974.

Avis was a Central Service Supervisor at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis.

She is survived by one brother, Louis (Lenora) Schmidt of Spring Valley, MN; and two sisters Erma Werth of Spring Valley, MN and Nola (Robert) Stanley of New Boston, Missouri.  Avis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands, three brothers, and two sisters.

Avis enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, crocheting and craft work.

Friends may call Wednesday, August 3, 2011 one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel.
