Arnold Lund Fredriksen – Rochester
Mr. Fredriksen, 92, of Rochester, died Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Arnold was born January 20, 1934, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Arnold Lewis Fredriksen and Inga Elaine Lund. Arnold and his family moved to Rochester in 1938 from Dilworth, MN. The family then moved to Hayfield, MN in 1941 and Arnold worked at his father’s store, Fredriksen Hatchery and feed, through high school. Arnold attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa where he met his wife, Gracia Dorthea Nilssen. Both attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and were married on December 22, 1958, in Forest City. Arnold served in the US Army from 1957 – 1959. After serving, Arnold and Gracia moved to Rochester in 1962. Arnold worked for IBM for 28 years until his retirement in 1991.
Survivors include son, Eric, of Rochester; daughter, Martha (Joe) Denzer of Rochester; and son, Ted, of Rochester. He is also survived by two grandsons; Samuel and Izaak Thielke, both of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracia, his parents, and son-in-law, Joel Thielke.
The Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rochester with Pastor Ben Loven presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester.
