Obituary

Memorial services will be held for Arlene R. Jacobson of Rochester on Friday, July 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, rural Ellendale with the Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Arlene passed away on Thursday July 8 th 2010, at her residence.

Arlene was born July 4, 1925 in Steele County, to Alfred T. and Laurena Jensen.  She married Eldo Jacobson on February 10, 1946.  They lived in New Richland until 1960 at which time they moved to Preston, where they owned and operated Olympic Bowl.  In 1973, they moved to Oronoco.  Arlene worked at Coast to Coast and then J.C. Penny's until her retirement.  She is a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Survivors include, two sons:  Duane (Carole) Jacobson of Altura, MN and Loren (Julie) Jacobson of Rochester; one daughter: JoAnn Bothun of Rochester; eight grandchildren: Stephanie, Christopher, Jennifer, Brandon, Darren, Angela, Nina and Erin; and ten great-grandchildren: Madison, Lucy, Lilly, Isabella, Miles, Ella, Piper, Jacob, Stella and Myka; one brother: Lemoyne (Fran) Jensen of Owatonna; and one sister: Blanche (Henry) Molle of Bulington, Wisconsin; three sisters-in-law: Jeanette Jacobson, Gloria Jacobson and Inez (Orrin) Ribbe; one brother-in-law: Sylvan (Evelyn) Jacobson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Eldo; one brother: Burton Jensen and two sisters: Lucille Pechacek and Erlys Calverley.
