Obituary

The Funeral Service for Anita Stensrud will be Friday, February 4, 2011 at 1:00PM at Marion Church of Christ with the Rev. David Willingham officiating.   Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

Mrs. Stensrud, 67 of Marion, died on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Rochester Methodist Hospital from complications of multiple myeloma. She had been ill for many years.

Anita Louise Raymond was born on October 1, 1943 to Gaylen and Virginia Raymond.  She grew up in Rochester and attended local schools.  On October 31, 1970, she married Dewey Stensrud in South Dakota.  Mr. Stensrud survives.

Anita worked for Crenlo in Rochester for 24 years, and was also a homemaker.  Her husband works for Mayo Clinic.

She is survived by 2 children; Tammy (Larry) Nielsen of St. Charles and Ross (Sandy) Stensrud of Rochester; 5 grandchildren, Travis (Sophia) Stensrud, Dominic Stensrud, Nicholas Stensrud, Erik Nielsen and Alex Nielsen; her mother Virginia and 5 brothers and sisters.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Anita was a caring person who loved her grandchildren and family.  She enjoyed puzzles, crafts, and boating on the river.  She also enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. She was a positive person who motivated those around her.  Being a strong  women of faith, she is now enjoying her reward in heaven.

Friends may call Thursday, February 3, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, in the new River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.
