A memorial Mass for Anita Nemgar will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester with the Rev. Mark McNea officiating.  Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

Anita Louise Nemgar, 86, of Rochester, MN, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Golden Living West nursing home. Anita was born April 30, 1926, in Biwabik, MN to Sisto and Mary Settimi. She graduated from Aurora High School. Anita furthered her education and graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. On November 27, 1948, she married William Nemgar in Aurora, MN. The couple moved to Rochester, MN, in 1950 for Bill's employment with Mayo Clinic. There she and her husband raised six children.

Survivors include MaryBeth Siemback (Ron) of Blaine, William (Stacy Rife) of Salmon, ID, Toni Smith-Johnson (Brad Johnson) of Rochester, Robert (Penny Yon) of Bemidji, John of Salmon, ID, and David (Marylu Schimek) of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her brother, Francis (Bud),  sister-in-law, Helen of Hoyt Lakes and their children, and sister-in-law Mary Jangunich of Eveleth.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, and her son-in-law, Jeff Smith.

Anita was a true Italian mother who took great pride in her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, cooking, and volunteering her time in the community and her church. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Memorials are suggested to Quarry Hill Nature Center or to the family.
