The memorial service for Alma Annie Hilfers (Bruns) will be at 11:00am Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Lou Haase officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:30am to 11:00am on Saturday.

Alma was born on June 12, 1939 in Iona Township in Murray County, Minnesota to Andrew and Irene (Ebbinga) Bruns.  She attended country school in Wirock,  MN and graduated from Fulda High School in 1957.  Alma married Robert E. Hilfers in Avoca, MN in 1960.  In 1964 they moved to Rochester, MN.  After many years with the Rochester School System, she was able to retire to pursue her hobbies.  These included quilting, sewing, gardening and traveling.

Alma is survived by her children; Cheryl (Danny) Quimby of Elgin, MN; Russell (Catherine) Hilfers of Rochester, MN; David (Teri) Hilfers of St. Cloud, FL; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
